Maple Baked Pears Recipe

You will get hooked on these pears baked in maple syrup and topped with pecans. These pears are so simple to make but they taste divine. They would make a family favorite or dinner party dessert! Add a dollop of yoghurt to give them a creamy topping, or a sneaky scoop of ice cream!

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the sugar.
  • Mix until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Add the maple syrup, mix again and remove from the heat.
  • Peel the pears, cut in half and remove the cores.
  • Place a piece of baking paper on a baking tray and lay the pears cut side up.
  • Drizzle over the maple syrup mixture and bake at 200c for 25-30 minutes.
  • Roughly chop the pecans and roast in a dry frying pan for 2-3 minutes until they lightly colour.
  • To serve, place each pear on a plate, drizzle over the cooking liquor and scatter with some roasted pecans.
  • Goes wonderfully with ice-cream!

    Wow, so glad I tried these pears, so easy and taste amazing. We added oat yoghurt as a topping 🙂
