Chocolate & Love Organic Fairtrade Panama Dark Chocolate 80% Single Origin is a high-percentage chocolate, full bodied yet mild, decadent and incredibly smooth with hints of nuts and an extraordinary chocolate flavour, ideal for the chocolate purist. We challenge you to find a smoother, less bitter, 80% chocolate bar.
Good dark bar with a great snap that melts beautifully to deliver really complex flavours. The natural hint of bitterness is complemented with fruity, tobacco and even coffee overtones that slowly work their way around the mouth in a most pleasing and delicious fashion. The finish is long, lingering and equally complex. A grown-up bar of chocolate to be enjoyed late in the evening along with something equally complex, strong and soothing in a glass.
Chocolate & Love work with cooperatives certified by Fairtrade including:
Acopagro, El Quinacho, Cacvra and Oro Verde in Peru, Fundopo in The Dominican Republic, Cocabo in Panama and Cooperative Premium Cacao Sambirano CPCS in Madagascar for the cacao. The cacao is bought directly from the Fairtrade certified cooperatives.
The cacao in this bar comes from Panama.
The cane sugar comes from Asocace in Paraguay and Apoya in Costa Rica and the Bourbon vanilla comes from Komam and Cooppvm in Madagascar.
Chocolate & Love are devoted to creating chocolate bars with high cocoa content and less sugar. There bars are excellent quality, ethically-made, and affordable.
They use FSC-certified paper for the outside paper wrapper of the 80g and 40g bars; paper from responsibly managed forests.
The inside wrapper is a transparent plastic-free film based on renewable resources as it is made from wood pulp from sustainably harvested wood. It is fully compostable and the foil is certified to EU and US biodegradability and composting standards in both industrial and home composting environments (EN13432, EN14995, ASTMD6400 and ISO 17088).
