Organic Acerola Powder is high in Vitamin C
Our Organic Acerola Powder is made by freeze drying acerola fruit berries and then grinding into a powder. Acerola cherry is sometimes known as West Indies cherry or Barbados cherry, although its not technically a cherry.
Acerola originates from central and South America and our product originates in Brazil. The berries are harvested whilst they are still green as they hold up to twice as much vitamin C as the ripe berries.
There are many health benefit claims made about this berry but the most striking is the vitamin C content at a whopping 18.6g of vitamin C per 100g!
Acerola is sweet, fragrant, and acidic in flavour. You can add this to smoothies, sprinkle over porridge or desserts or even mix directly in to water for a health shot.
