Description

Organic Tricolor Quinoa is a seed that works like a grain.

Organic Tricolor Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a colourful trio of 3 quinoa varieties.  Organic tricolor quinoa is a source of protein so is a popular choice with vegans and vegetarians.  It contains all the essential amino acids needed for human nutrition.

Quinoa is a ‘pseudo-grain’ which means that although we use it as a grain it is actually a seed.   This means it is higher in nutrients and protein than most grains.  One 90g serving of quinoa (cooked) is a source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Copper and Manganese.

Our tricolor quinoa hails from Peru and is grown in the Andean Mountains where it has been a staple food for thousands of years. Quinoa goes well in a wide range of sweet and savoury recipes.

You may also like to try our organic red quinoa, organic black quinoa or organic white quinoa.

  3. You can make your own quinoa flour by lightly toasting the quinoa and grinding it down to a powder.
