This Carob Porridge Recipe is a really easy way to start using this fabulous powder. Carob has a rich ‘caramelly’ taste which makes it great for children and adults alike. It doesn’t contain caffeine so is a great alternative to cacao for those who are sensitive to it.
If you enjoy experimenting with natural desserts then carob is a must for your natural store cupboard. This delicious, versatile powder can be used in baking, decadent truffles and smoothies. It contains three times more calcium than cacao and contains no oxalates (compounds which inhibit mineral absorption).
Get started with this nutritious, decadent breakfast full of protein, fibre and good fats to keep you going all morning.
1/2 cup Quinoa Flakes
2 tbsp Chia Seeds
1 tbsp Peanut Butter
pinch of Himalayan salt
1 1/2 Cups Nut Milk
- Add ingredients to a saucepan
- Gently cook over a low heat for 7-9 mins
- Once cooked remove from heat
- Transfer to a bowl
- Top with a little extra peanut butter, carob & cinnamon
