Organic Cayenne Pepper is a vibrant orange/red colour, its botanical name is capsicum spp. Our organic cayenne powder is dried naturally in warm air when it is fresh from the field.  It is then gently milled to a fine, free flowing powder.

Cayenne can be sprinkled over any meal and has a really impressive nutrition content, so if you like it hot you have a great excuse to add more.

Cayenne is often added to health drinks and detox diets because it is so full of goodness. Did you know cayenne is rated by its heat?  This batch has a rating of 25 thousand Scoville Heat Units.  We also stock cayenne with 40 thousand Scoville Heat Units if you like it hot!

The Nutritional Benefits of Organic Cayenne Pepper

Organic Cayenne is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium and Manganese. It is a source of Thiamin, Folate, Calcium, Phosphorus, Zinc and Copper.

Manganese: This vital nutrient contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and the formation of connective tissue.  It is also needed for the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamin K: This nutrient is needed for the normal maintenance of bones and blood clotting.

Phosphorus: This abundant mineral contributes to energy-yielding metabolism, function of cell membranes and the maintenance of bones and teeth.

Cooking Instructions

Our organic cayenne pepper has an SHU of approximately 25,000. This is around medium heat so we find a couple of pinches to a regular pot will add a good chilli punch.


For optimum freshness keep in a cool place away from moisture and direct sunlight.  Store in a tightly sealed bag or container.

Family Tip:

  1. Cayenne pepper is great sprinkled on any meal if you like spicy food.
  2. Cayenne is a nice addition to a hot lemon and honey drink if you have a cold.
