Description

Made from freshly-squeezed coconuts, our organic coconut milk powder is wonderfully sweet and aromatic.

Perfect for curries, sauces, smoothies, yogurts and even cakes, our organic coconut milk powder is sure to quickly become one of your kitchen staples. A dairy-free milk alternative, many vegans and vegetarians opt to use this coconut milk powder in their teas and coffees. To turn this powder into soft, velvety milk, simply add some hot water and continue to add until you reach your desired thickness.

Our organic coconut milk powder is made from coconuts that originate from Sri Lanka, an island located off the coast of Southern India. Coconuts account for around 12% of all agricultural produce created in Sri Lanka, with approximately 2,500 million coconuts produced every year there. The tree itself is known as the ‘tree of life’, and coconuts are highly respected by the people of Sri Lanka, not only because it is a fantastic food source, but also because it holds much economic significance within their culture.

Many people use coconut milk powder to make golden milk, which is a traditional Indian drink that some people drink before going to bed. To make golden milk, simply prepare 1 cup of coconut milk using our powder and some hot water. In a pan, heat the coconut milk and a teaspoon of organic coconut oil before adding half a tsp of organic turmeric, 1/8 tsp of organic ginger and a pinch of organic ground black pepper. Continue to heat this until the milk is warm, whisking frequently, but do not allow to boil. To sweeten the golden milk, add a teaspoon of your choice of sweetener (we suggest our organic coconut palm sugar) and remove from the heat and pour into a mug.
