Organic Dried Rosemary is a woody perennial herb which grows freely in Europe and is native to the Mediteranean region.  This fragrant herb has evergreen, needle-like leaves which are harvested and then dried naturally.

When it comes to nutrition herbs win hands down over other whole foods.  Rosemary is no exception boasting high levels of Vitamin C, B6, Calcium and Iron.  It is also rich in a unique range of essential oils which have been linked to a wide range of health benefits.

Although fresh Rosemary is very easy to grow in your garden, it is a great herb to have ready on the kitchen spice rack all year round.  It is a great addition to vegetable gravies and stews.

The Nutritional Benefits of Organic Rosemary.

Rosemary is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Thiamin (B1), Vitamin B6, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Manganese. It is a source of Riboflavin, Potassium, Zinc and Copper.

B-Vitamins: This group of vitamins contribute to normal psychological function, normal function of the immune system and contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Zinc: This nutrient contributes to normal function of the immune system, DNA synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism, cognitive function, fertility and reproduction, metabolism of fatty acids, protein synthesis as well as the maintenance of bone, hair, skin and nails. It also protects cells from oxidative stress which is so important in a world where our bodies are exposed to so many toxins daily.

Magnesium: This wonderful nutrient is often referred to as natures tranquilliser.  It is necessary for the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and electrolyte balance.  It is also needed for normal nervous system and muscle function.

For optimum freshness keep in a cool place away from moisture and direct sunlight.  Store in a tightly sealed bag or container.

Family Tip:

  1. We love to sprinkle rosemary over our roast potatoes.
  2. Another great way of using Rosemary is to infuse it with olive oil – this makes for a really tasty salad dressing.
  3. Try a herbal infusion, simply add hot water and allow to sit for 5 minute then strain.
