Description

Organic Cashew Pieces help your body make serotonin.

Organic cashew nuts (pieces) are broken in the farming process and are seen as a by-product.  These pieces are broken but delicious and are great if you don’t mind imperfection.  They are also a good choice if you want to save some money when shopping organically.  Cashew pieces are perfect for milk, cashew cheese, curries, raw desserts or nut butter.  If you want crunchy premium whole nuts then choose our organic whole cashew nuts.

Cashew nuts are technically a seed because they grow out of a fruit.  The shell they come from is actually toxic but removing the shell and heating it results in the creamy nut you know and love.  The cashew tree is a tall and fast growing evergreen.  In the right conditions it can reach up to fifty feet high.

Before the organic cashew nut is gently roasted it is green, the heating process turns them a lovely golden colour.  You cannot eat raw cashew nuts because it would make you ill, but some cashews are lightly steamed and these are sometimes labelled as raw.

Organic cashew nuts are a common favourite due to their wonderful creamy texture and this makes them a great addition to coconut curry. Their range of nutrients makes them a fantastic snack and as they have high levels of B6 and tryptophan which help your body make seretonin – your happy hormone!

Family Tip:

  1. We think cashews are lovely in salads but also use them in cooked recipes like stir fries.
  2. They are particularly delicious if you dry-fry or toast them lightly.  It gives them a more-ish crunch.
  3. Cashew pieces are perfect in recipes which grind the nut like mylk, energy balls, curries or raw cheesecake.
