Description

Organic Blanched Almond Flour is high in Vitamin E.

Organic Blanched Almond Flour is a dense nutritional flour which is great in a whole host of recipes and has a wonderful aromatic flavour.  Wheat and naturally gluten free flours are dominating the plant based world and almond flour is one of the tastiest.  If you want to reduce your intake of grains or have trouble digesting them then almond flour makes a great alternative.  The density of almond flour makes for moist, delicious cakes.

Paleo diet plans and low grain advocates often recommend almond flour as an alternative – it is a great variation on regular flour recipes due to its exceptional flavour and dense nutrition.  It combines well with other gluten free flours and can be added to sweet and savoury recipes.

Organic Blanched Almond Flour is made by blanching the almonds to remove its outer skin and then grinding them down to a fine powder.  As almond flour is made from ground almonds it has a dense nutritional profile including Manganese, Vitamin B2, Vitamin E and Magnesium.

What’s the difference between ground almonds and almond flour?

Almond flour is always made from blanched almonds and is ground very finely to make a light floury texture.  Ground almonds may or may not be blanched but they have a heavier texture.  If  you are following a recipe which calls for flour, it may be heavier and more dense if you substitute with ground almonds.

Family Tip:

  1. Our favourite way to enjoy almond flour is in cakes.  It creates dense, moist bakes and goes particularly well with lemon or orange zest.
  2. Another great way to use almond flour is in pancakes.  It makes a change from normal flour and creates a much more nutrient dense pancake – great for getting extra nutrition into children
