Product Description

Organic Unblanched Almonds are a source of vitamin E.

Organic Unblanched Almonds are one of the most popular nuts in the whole food world due to their calcium and vitamin E levels.  The almond is actually a seed grown in a deciduous tree which grows easily in Europe but is native to the Middle East, India and Africa.

Unblanched almonds have been shelled but undergo no other processing so still have the skin intact and are brown in colour.  Blanched almonds by comparison have been heat treated with water to remove the skin which reveals the white flesh of the seed.

Almonds are a great source of nutrition and are lovely used in baking or simply snacked on.  They can be blended with water and then strained to make homemade almond milk.  If you want to use them as a flour you can either grind them yourselves or for a finer result try our Organic Blanched Almond Flour.

The Nutritional Benefits of Organic Almonds.

Organic almonds are a source of magnesium, phosphorous, manganese, calcium, iron and zinc.  They are also high in vitamin E.

Manganese: This vital nutrient contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, formation of connective tissue and the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Zinc:  This nutrient contributes to normal function of the immune system, DNA synthesis and carbohydrate metabolism.  It is also needed for cognitive function, fertility and reproduction.

Calcium: It is a common myth that we need to eat dairy to get an adequate calcium intake.   Many plant based foods boast high levels of it.  Calcium is needed for the normal maintenance of bones and teeth and digestive enzyme function.

Magnesium: This wonderful nutrient is often referred to as natures tranquilliser.  It is necessary for the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and electrolyte balance.

Iron: It is vital to get enough iron and many whole foods contain high levels of it.  Iron contributes to normal cognitive function, immune system function, reduction of
tiredness, energy-yielding metabolism, formation of red blood cells, transportation of oxygen and cell division.

Vitamin E: This antioxidant contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

    I’ve been using this almonds to make almond milk, I can’t find better quality for the price, they’re organic and come from Italy. They use sustainable methods, not like the American almonds. I normally buy a big packet of 4k that will last me months.

  1. We like to use organic almonds to make a rich almond milk. Home-made milk is far superior to the stuff in the shops which often only contains 2% almonds.
