Description
Organic Poppy Seeds are great for baking.
Organic Blue Poppy Seeds have an intense nutty flavour and a satisfying crunch.Ā They are harvested from the dried pods of the poppy flower and have a soft bluish/grey tone.
Because of their strong colour poppy seeds look great in sweet and savoury recipes and add crunch to cakes and biscuits.Ā Poppy seeds go particularly well with citrus flavours and are often featured in lemon drizzle cake recipes.
The use of poppy seeds was recorded in Egyptian times with scrolls dated as far back as 1550BC.Ā This was for culinary use, producing poppy seed oil and the sedative properties of opium.Ā Our poppy seeds are purely for culinary use and you will find a wide range of recipes available, especially for delicious cakes and breads.
If you haven’t tried them before why not start with these lemon energy bliss balls.
